Everyone brought friends to the shoot so it became more of a party... Eico enjoyed being a knife-wielding badass so much it was almost disturbing. - Gary Boyle
Judging by the credits, this wasn't just an ordinary video shoot, but an historic summit meeting with members of several notable Bangkok bands present, not to mention all the founders of the prolific Thai indie label, Panda Records. Will all this awesomeness under one roof be the recipe for a watershed year in music history? If there ever was a team to do it, then it was the one assembled.
For Plastic Section, led by the Australian songwriter, Ben Edwards, the stars aligned during a beer and blood soaked jubilee of a production. With Bangkok receiving increasingly enthusiastic interest from the industry across the oceans, more and more the small intimate music community is navigating towards the horizon in search of other music networks to ally with globally. In other words, "Shot" is a guided fucking missile driving the narrative of rock and roll outside of the well-worn American and UK music scenes. Pack your bags, Pitchfork. The next big band isn't happening in the heavily gentrified metropolises of New York City, Austin or London. It's happening in Bangkok.
Best watch Gary Boyle's meaty masterpiece on an empty stomach. Think twice next time you order a burger at Fatty's. Set your Youtube video settings to the max 1080p HD.
