It's a bit late to plug this but Dino, Top, Phil and Van collectively known as Degaruda will be razing Haus 20 Design & Dine in Lat Phrao tonight alongside The Sticky Rice, Summer Dress and Monomania. Let's burn the place to the fuckin ground... *ahem* metaphorically speaking - on second thought, don't burn down anything... even in your mind... A few years ago some idiots were seen on Youtube talking about burning down Central World Mall during the Red Shirt protests... and then Central World burned down - and those morons got ID'd, arrested, and imprisoned. So have fun but don't destroy any property or kill anyone. SO.... don't miss the show - you've been warned. See the facebook event page here.
Tomorrow night at Harmonica, Friday August 2, will be the last time you can see Joey Massacre aka Joe Crawley performing with Bangkok's big dirty rock n' roll band, The Sangsom Massacre - he's heading back across the sea to continue his studies. Let's make the night a special one for TSM. See my first blog post on The Sangsom Massacre here. They will be performing with thePanda Records trio, Plastic Section featuring Ben Edwards with his rhythm section of Bangkok indie rock gurus, Pok and Put. The night will rounded out by Panic Station - Ben and Tom were initially spotted at Fatty Fest with a small legion of adoring fans and have wasted no time leaping into the fray. Check out their band page here. Sign up for this event here.
OK, it's been a challenge getting these podcast interviews happening due to scheduling. Initially I interviewed Ben Edwards of both Basement Tape and Plastic Section back in April for 3 hours at Fatty's but there were too many extraneous conversations in the background. We'll have Lord Ben on the show soon talking about his new album released on Panda Records. Speaking of which... Plastic Section is having a record release party at WTF on August 9th with support from Wednesday. Sign up for the event here.
A whopper of a show is brewing in Pinklao at Da Overstay thanks to a new production outfit called One World Love Productions. On the bill for August 10 is Chladni Chandi, The Sangsom Massacre, Degaruda, Plastic Section, 3 Second Sigh and more... it's enough to call in sick on Monday. Still waiting to see what other bands sneak into the lineup. Mark it on the calendar - there's no event page yet.
If anyone has an idea for my next podcast, I'm all ears. See you at the shows. DC
P.S. Thanks for sharing and liking. I'll try to post more. I put a small gallery of photos down at the bottom.
