A bunch of music business resources have been collected and brought to you now. These are my favorites. This is just a cool interview with a guy who has worked with the greats. This guy can be seriously boring but if you find his videos he knows his stuff. This is my favorite music business resource and it's totally free unless you decide to buy the courses. Renman does live shows with music biz people like record exec, Jason Flom. It demystifies a lot of things about the business and is entertaining. Spotlight Global Music appears to be an agency that helps get artists get a leg up and get record label ready. I enjoyed their list. They also have a 3 prong strategy for success which includes power branding (1 million hits on Youtube, something with Revebnation); rapid fan acquisition (email lists); and career development. Apparently they researched successful artists and found they all had these three things in common. This dude is basically selling a course as well as templates for web pages. The gist of this strategy for music marketing is totally online and relies on compiling email lists and sending a series of emails to get people to buy something. The way you would get emails is with a combination of several things including guest blogging, online forums, ads on well trafficked sites that direct back to a squeeze page where a consumer is given a choice to hand over email for access to content or leave. By giving their email they are saying, "Yes, send me invitations to buy stuff!" It's just a good podcast.
