It was a night that will be talked about for years to come. What started off as a 4th of July BBQ ended in a sonic storm destroying near everything in its path. Fatty's reported a record breaking night: 20 cases of beer sold! Still, the "clitoral damage" for the night included: a broken sofa, a broken bass drum head, and 2 broken ribs for visiting music and film critic, Marc Savlov, from the Austin Chronicle (I also lost my phone). The smoked ribs sold out fast and sullen-faced Fattyfesters were reduced to gnawing off pieces of their own fingers which they smothered in BBQ sauce. And in perhaps one of the saddest displays of human tragedy, a rocker who shall remain nameless was overheard begging for just one spare rib from the Fatty's gang secret stash. Below are photos of the night. Here's a clip of Degaruda. They surprise everyone with Pearl Jam's "State of Love and Trust" followed by "Slumber Party" to close the night and Marc crashing to the floor right as I stop recording. A Google keyword search for "underground music Bangkok" came up with this site as #2 - these things don't really mean much as I suspect the readers are all people within my immediate circle, but still it shows promise and galvanizes my belief in rock n' roll as a change agent in the world. In order to enact my plans for the expansion of this blog into an online Bangkok music hub I need business partners, investors, sponsors, advertisers, writers, rockers, photographers, multimedia producers, videographers, editors, visionaries and seed money for a startup immediately. You have my word that you will all be rewarded in the next stage of the adventure. Rock on!
